RS232 4 Digits Serial Led Module In Cascade

Dear Sirs,

We need something like this : http://www.siliconcraft.net/SC4DLITE-SERIAL%20LED%20MODULE.htm

We need a cascade of 4 digits Seven Segment LED Serial Display. We need a line of 50 modules, and I have to be able to send to each module a number through my computer RS232 port.

To understand, I have 50 different products in my warehouse, each product in one box, all 50 boxes are in line. When I have a order, I want to display the number of items the operator has to pick up of each box. I put the display in front of each box. Example, I have an order of :

2 items product A
1 Item product B
5 Items product C

Then I need the display in front of the box that have the product A, show "2", the display in front of the box that have the product B, show "1" and the display in front of the box that have the product C, show "5"

I need all the info and schematics to do this.

Thanks.

Strain Sensor And Associated Electronics

Hello,

My name is Vadim. I am developing a device which I have invented and need the help of an EE.

The device needs to take readings from a strain gauge at an interval around 60 Hz, display them on a screen (perhaps a two digit, 7-segment LCD) and then, upon a buttonpress retain the last measurement upon the screen until the button is depressed again.

Further, there needs to be a way to fine tune the relationship between the numbers on display and the output of the strain gauge to account for variation in manufacturing to improve interpolability between prototypes and eventual devices.

The device has two equal volumes to accommodate electronics, display, and battery of around 40mm x 10mm x 20mm although I would prefer to use as little of those spaces as possible.

I am would like to know the cost to develop / program a suitable board as well as deliver 10 units for use in prototypes.

If youre interested, please include references and/or a CV with any proposal. Thanks and I look forward to working with you.

–Vadim

Level Gage

Hello,

We intend to use an ultrasonic sensor to measure the liquid level of a container, the sensor has a nominal frequency of 40khz with a detection range up to 3m. The heigth of the container will be diferent and it could go from 0.50 up to 2 meters. We want to use a PIC and the chossen family should be conservative priced. The range should be adjustable to adapt the measurement of diferent container sizes, outputs will be 5 leds that will indicate 5- Full, 4- 3/4, 3- 1/2, 2- 1/4 & 1- Empty. You can see the sensor at the following adress

http://futurlec.com/Ultrasonic_Sensors.shtml

If aditional details are needed please advice. The function of the PIC is to send a signal pulse nd then wait ultil it is reflected by the liquid and calculate the distance when it heard back the pulse

Simple GSM / GPS Tracker

I am looking for a fast turnaround on this project. I require a schematic, PCB design and production of a single prototype, including firmware for the following functionality. The deice will have three buttons (plus one power button). The devices is programmed via SMS to associate a number with each of the buttons. When a button is pressed, the system immediately sends an SMS message with the last recorded GPS coordinates, attempts to update these coordinates and if a new coordinate is shown, then sends an update SMS. All configuration commands must include the password (6 characters), configurations commands include :-
Set number for button 1
Set number for button 2
Set number for button 3
Set new password

Additional command result in the reply send to the requesting number include:
Sleep GPS X, causes the GPS to be disabled for X number of 15 minute periods (maximum X = 32)
Sleep SMS X, causes the GSM to be disabled for X number of 15 minute periods (maximum X = 32)
Update Now, causes the system to enable to GPS is disabled, reports immediately last know coordinates, upon receipt of a new set of coordinates sends an update SMS.

All configuration commands a responded with an OK is successful or NG if not successful.

Preferable charging is via mini USB. Firmware updates should be achieved via USB.

There is no requirement for voice support at this time, however consideration should be made for the possible inclusion of this in the near future.

In addition to the finished prototype, I will require the schematic, PCB design in an industry standard format plus source code for the firmware. If developed within a specific IDE, I wil also require the name of the IDE used, the language you used, the source code in that language and in the native machine code (if possible) to be delivered (via e-mail is sufficient).
Preferable payment terms are 30% upfront, 30% upon receipt of the prototype and 40% upon successful testing. Testing will include all commands and battery life. GPS reception will be tested in all weather conditions and within a city environment with high rise buildings.
A further 10% of your stated contract price will be on offer if the prototype is delivered within 20 working days.

Competition Grade Xbox 360 Controller

I am a professional gamer who competes on the Xbox 360. Me and my team attend tournaments all over the world for thousands of dollars in prizes.

The project Ive been working on is developing a competitive gaming controller designed for the Xbox 360. Ive done a lot of initial research but have hit a few snags which I was hoping you could help on, then was also looking to have the prototype manufactured and set to a point where I can mass-manufacture it.

Parts:

Switches (For Face Buttons, Possibly Triggers)

I looked into it, these are what is used in competition grade keyboards at the moment and they seem like they would serve the purpose for a controller as well. Unsure as to whether putting these into a controller, which is much smaller than a keyboard, is feasible though.

http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/switches/key/mx.htm

Triggers

I want to have a setup for the triggers where they can be removed and replaced, similar to the triggers on a paintball gun. Ideally this would be able to make an effect of having a hairtrigger (where just a tiny amount of force is enough to hit the switch, firing the gun in game) or to allow for a longer trigger pull if that is what the player prefers. If this isnt possible/feasible then the trigger needs to default be set up as a hair-trigger. In the current Xbox 360 controller a potentiometer is used which goes from 0 to 100, at which point the gun fires. Ideally Id like to replace this with a switch, so that the response time is much quicker.

Joystick

Here is the part which has been used in every controller since the Sony Playstation:

http://www.p3america.com/pp/802.htm

The cap on top has changed, but the joystick part has remained the same. It is just 2 potentiometers which send directions back to the console. This is where Ive had a lot of issues as to how the part can be improved while keeping costs down. The stick isnt bad at all but it doesnt move as smoothly as it needs to for competitive play, and there is a large "Dead Zone" in the center of the controller before the controller sends readings, making it hard to make finesse adjustments.

Plastic/Form Factor

Im not sure how to go about this part of the process, and research didnt turn up much. Id like it to closely resemble the form factor of the current Xbox 360 controller.

=========================

Im admittedly new to all this and while I have a ton of knowledge on the end product and its use competitively, I really dont know much about the manufacturing/engineering aspects of it all. Ive researched it enough so that Im not a complete idiot on the subject, but I need to know more and connect with people who can help make my vision a reality.

Let me know if you need more information.
Date and budget are flexible.

The unit will also receive information and messages from the user via the server and send back data to the server.

Hardware:
- The appropriate candidate would first define the system, recommend the appropriate chipsets and components for the in-vehicle devices, and then complete the specifications board layout, general electronic circuit design, firmware, prototyping including device prototyping, debuging and device manufacturing, etc.

Software:
- The front end will be web based and will also require a light tracking application on mobile phones. System architecture will include users multi-level access and display for security purposes, assigning of geofencing areas for individuals as well as vehicles, etc.

Reports will be generated and users will be able to retrieve reports (examples below):

Battery Powered Method To Measure Water Temp W/LCD Display

We need designed and specified a method to measure the temperature of running water in a plastic pipe about .5"dia. The sensor would be inserted into the pipe and wiring coming out of a sealed hole. The accuracy should be within two degrees. We need to display the temperature on a small simple LCD display that is positioned within a few inches of the water. The circuit must be battery powered by a small over the shelf battery,The unit will be operated a for about one hour everyday. We would like the battery to last atleast one year. The temperature range is from 35F to 120F. I will design the mechanical aspects and ensure the LCD and other components will be water proof. I just need the circuit designed and prototyped.

Circuit Design/prototype For Vector Scan Output

I need a prototype and schematics for a circuit that will take X/Y/Blank output from a vector scan circuit and convert to a signal that galvanometers will use to control laser output.
The laser output X/Y scale should be adjustable in multipliers so that the image resolution or X/Y axis can be increased or decreased (say with a potentiometer).

The circuit will be used for legacy video game equipment :
http://www.video.ch/memorabilia/vectrex/vectrex-manual.pdf

Essentially the circuit will be attached to the mainboard of this unit at the X/Y/Blank output and rather than displaying on the internal vector scan monitor will go to this circuit and transfer output to scaleable laser.

Very Easy Job – Just Your Own Opinions

Hello good freelancers!

The proposed job fairly easy and interesting for anyone who speaks English. Still, it is desirable that English is your native language. You do not need any knowledge in a particular area.

I am gathering a team of people, who can write few words about some electronic products in their homes.
Its quite simple!
For example, at first I need honest human opinions about your own cell-phone.
Like this:

1.
I purchased my Sony Ericsson W995 in August and here are some observations, that are beyond the specifications that you will always find on the Sony Ericsson web site.
I received the handset along the following: 1 GB MP3 player, 2 years insurance, 1-year warranty, Standard accessories to connect to PC, Headphone etc.
About the features…
The Delighters : Google maps locate everything and anything for you. Battery life if great – atleast 4 hours talktime is guaranteed. Keypad is tacky and gives a nice feel during use. The bluetooth headset connection is easy and works right the first time and is 100% assuring that it works much better than the Z550i i had previously.
The Disappointers : The display gets scratched easy – and deep at times. The Music menu comes up now and then on its own, fortunately the songs do not start off on their own!
The Neutrals : GPS hogs battery and heats up the unit – but that is normal stuff.
Summary : A great Phone, works reliably, no complaints or regrets , and is a good companion. The price seemed a tad high. Overall, i love it :-)

OR like this:

2.
The Nokia 5800, aka “The Tube” is quite a formidable phone offering many great advantages. First off the price, which can range anywhere from 200 to 300 euro, it isnt little but it is pretty savvy when compared to the 700 euro of the new IPhone. The 5800 has everything you might need in a phone, unfortunately though it isn’t problem free.

You can write all that you think about your phone or smart.
Send me just one mini-review and Ill decide as far as you do for long-term work. Please do not copy any opinions from other sites. Ineed only your own true opinion.

Thank you in advance!
Best regards!

Custom Time Delay Relay Curcuit Board

I have a fairly easy project for someone who knows what they are doing with electronics…

Here is what I have…

down function) Relay sends out +12v – stays on

up function) Relay turns off 12v trigger.

So those are my triggers… +12v on and then off is off…

When trigger is +12v I need to output +12v on PIN1, and Ground on PIN2 for an adjustable amount of time, .25-2seconds (adjustable).

When trigger is removed, I need to output Neutral on PIN1 and +12v on PIN2 for a separately adjustable amount of time.

Voltages and such may change a little bit depending on the motor I pick up… but the idea and essentially the cost/difficulty should remain the same.

Basically what I am doing is triggering a motor in forward and reverse. Hope this makes sense… doesnt need to be super elegant… if you can do it on a breadboard thats fine if it works.
