Magento Checkout Issue

We have an issue with a Magento install. Heres whats going on… we have two websites (separate urls) for two stores, on a shared server, sharing a single checkout. This works most of the time. However, on the second store, we are periodically having an issue where when the user puts an item in their shopping cart (in shop 2), then clicks to checkout, they go to the initial one page checkout page (shop 1) (checkout as a guest or register) and then after a second or two they are redirected back to the shopping cart page (shop 2). So people arent able to check out. When we see this problem occurring we can flush the Magento cache, close and reopen our browser, and the problem goes away. This has happened twice over the past two days, so we need to address this issue.
I need a Magento expert who can figure this out and fix it. I am happy to explain how we are currently configured if you have questions. Thanks.
I have had a website made for me but my designer is no longer getting in contact and I need some issues sorted quickly.
These are the issues I have on the site:
Products displayed on page ( display all products in category and not just 8 )
search results page to display correctly when a search is made. ( they are all over the place at moment )
internet explorer and safari search bar fix ( the bar does not stay in the right place on safari , and make sure website is displayed correctly on all browsers )

We need a Magento guru who can solve a problem that we have with 3 different plugins on a Magento environment.
We are using Magento 1.3.2.4, and we also have the Dropship plugin working on it (www.unirgy.com). This environment also uses Exactor (www.exactor.com) as a piece of software to calculate taxes on sales.
Currently Dropship and Exactor ARE compatibles without issues, however we now need to install Dropship Split (which can be also seen on Unirgys website) but it appears that this software is NOT compatible with Exactor. We have run different tests and we have determined that due to this incompatibility, the system tends to NOT add taxes in some occasions while it does (using the same products, destinations, etc) on some others, depending on how you navigate the website.
We need someone who can fix this in less than 4 business days and who is able to provide later a full documentation about the work done.
We will provide a DEV environment where the development can be done and testes, and once it is approved it will be taken LIVE by us, thats why we need the full documentation of the changes done.
We had our site customized by a freelancer and they told us which files they changed, were looking to have the site upgraded to 1.4.1.1 its currently 1.3.2.4.
The upgrades they made need to be retained and naturally we dont want the site to "break" when this is done.

This is a very simple project for someone who knows Magento well.
I have a orking Magento site, and I installed the CONICAL URL plugin via Megento Connect. It threw up a fatal error and broke my magento. I have disabled the module by changing the XML file from true to false. I have also deleted the cache. My site is now back online but I get lots of error in the admin panel, such as;
Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mage_Reports_Model_Mysql4_Order_Collection::addExpressionAttributeToSelect
If someone can get conical URLs module working and correct the errors Id be very happy.

I cant get my Magento up and running anymore, everytime I repair one problem it goes to the next. All I wanted to do was uninstall a magikslider then I got a blank frontend afterwards, then I stupidly thought it could be a template problem and tried installing the modern theme, that at the same time tried updating my magento. Ive tried all sorts but dont have enough knowledge and before I wait for an answer I thought Id try here
