IPod CANbus Integration System

I currently have a program I need fixed. Knowledge of CANBus, Ipod Accessory protocol, micro-controllers, and C++ is REQUIRED. The program will need to be edited and built in Microchip MPLAB IDE or other C++ IDE. This is an ipod integration system for a vehicle, using the CANbus and Apple Ipod Accessory Protocol. The program is in C++. The micro-controller is a PIC18F2585. The issue(s) are as follows.

1) Ipod randomly pauses for 1 to 3 seconds every 2-10 minutes.
2) No timer text on LCD. I would like this added.
3) Song/Artist text does not scroll constantly during song play black. I would like this fixed.

After successful completion of this job, programmer will be asked to work on the next line of product immediately. Consider this an audition to a much bigger paying job.

Id like this completely finished within 14 days. I will pay in full only AFTER successful code is returned to me. Constant communication will likely be required, so having a chat screen name or email address you check frequently is desired.

Strain Sensor And Associated Electronics

Hello,

My name is Vadim. I am developing a device which I have invented and need the help of an EE.

The device needs to take readings from a strain gauge at an interval around 60 Hz, display them on a screen (perhaps a two digit, 7-segment LCD) and then, upon a buttonpress retain the last measurement upon the screen until the button is depressed again.

Further, there needs to be a way to fine tune the relationship between the numbers on display and the output of the strain gauge to account for variation in manufacturing to improve interpolability between prototypes and eventual devices.

The device has two equal volumes to accommodate electronics, display, and battery of around 40mm x 10mm x 20mm although I would prefer to use as little of those spaces as possible.

I am would like to know the cost to develop / program a suitable board as well as deliver 10 units for use in prototypes.

We intend to use an ultrasonic sensor to measure the liquid level of a container, the sensor has a nominal frequency of 40khz with a detection range up to 3m. The heigth of the container will be diferent and it could go from 0.50 up to 2 meters. We want to use a PIC and the chossen family should be conservative priced. The range should be adjustable to adapt the measurement of diferent container sizes, outputs will be 5 leds that will indicate 5- Full, 4- 3/4, 3- 1/2, 2- 1/4 & 1- Empty. Simple GSM / GPS Tracker

I am looking for a fast turnaround on this project. I require a schematic, PCB design and production of a single prototype, including firmware for the following functionality. The deice will have three buttons (plus one power button). The devices is programmed via SMS to associate a number with each of the buttons. When a button is pressed, the system immediately sends an SMS message with the last recorded GPS coordinates, attempts to update these coordinates and if a new coordinate is shown, then sends an update SMS. All configuration commands must include the password (6 characters), configurations commands include :-
Set number for button 1
Set number for button 2
Set number for button 3
Set new password

Additional command result in the reply send to the requesting number include:
Sleep GPS X, causes the GPS to be disabled for X number of 15 minute periods (maximum X = 32)
Sleep SMS X, causes the GSM to be disabled for X number of 15 minute periods (maximum X = 32)
Update Now, causes the system to enable to GPS is disabled, reports immediately last know coordinates, upon receipt of a new set of coordinates sends an update SMS.

All configuration commands a responded with an OK is successful or NG if not successful.

Preferable charging is via mini USB. Firmware updates should be achieved via USB.

There is no requirement for voice support at this time, however consideration should be made for the possible inclusion of this in the near future.

In addition to the finished prototype, I will require the schematic, PCB design in an industry standard format plus source code for the firmware. If developed within a specific IDE, I wil also require the name of the IDE used, the language you used, the source code in that language and in the native machine code (if possible) to be delivered (via e-mail is sufficient).
Preferable payment terms are 30% upfront, 30% upon receipt of the prototype and 40% upon successful testing. Testing will include all commands and battery life. GPS reception will be tested in all weather conditions and within a city environment with high rise buildings.
A further 10% of your stated contract price will be on offer if the prototype is delivered within 20 working days.

I/o Controller

Design a microcontroller circuit which will communicate with another system via rs232 communications with adjustable communications speeds. 32kb is the target communication speed.
The circuit will read and debounce 64 5volt inputs and transmit the data out via serial port.
The circuit will then receive data from the serial port and latch it to led driver outputs (32).
The system will also read 4 analog inputs, and write 4 analog outputs. (0 to 5v)
Processor is up to you, pending our approval.
A working pcb would be ideal. SMT is not required. PCB Headers can be specified later.
The system will function to read and display operator switch selections on a CNC machine interface. Discrete inputs and outputs are required, not a matrix.

Magnetic Card Reader That Collects/stores Data

-The magnetic head and magnetic stripe will be ISO and 75 to 210 BPI, alphanumeric.

Wireless Arduino Light Switch

I like to create an Arduino-based light switch that will turn on / off several lights in my room. Currently I have a standard North-American light switch with just an on/off position. I like to control the lights using both the standard light switch and the Arduino. Please design something safe that will not cause short-circuits, fires, or any sort of electrical problem.

I like to receive the commands to turn on and off the light via a wireless Internet connection. I found the WiShield (see http://asynclabs.com/store?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=17&category_id=6&vmcchk=1) . This will allow the Arduino to connect to the Internet wirelessly. A simple web server should be running on the Arduino awaiting the commands to turn on/off the lights. I like to specify the URL as http://192.168.1.1/process.html?command=on&light=A . In effect this will be a Web Service that sits and awaits the on/off commands. Theres a Web Server library for the Arduino located at http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/WebServer

Summary:
Internet HTTP Request=> Arduino Web Server => 120V Light Switch

There are several ways to accomplish this, one been the proposed relay solid-state switch, but feel free to make suggestions. I need to get this done ASAP and with minimal cost. I will buy all materials required. One important thing is to make this cosmetically-pleasing. I dont like to see hanging wires. Please provide a stylish cover and make it look very neat. The Arduino should be tightly packed inside the cover along with the WiShield. Make this design expandable so that I can control several light switches at the same time. The relays can be inside a separate smaller box that can be placed inside the actual light switch. All the light switches are next to each other currently.

Conductivity Measurement – Microcontroller

We are looking for design of a circuit which will return a value between 0 and 5v DC which corresponds to the resistance of liquid(milk). The circuit has source voltage of 5vDC and can be designed to output a PWM signal if needed.

The probes are stainless steel spaced 1cm apart and will be used in apparatus to measure the milk flow coming from cows on dairy facilities. For this reason several electrical characteristics must be taken into account. Cows are very sensitive to stray current so research will need to be conducted to ensure that the circuit measuring the flow of milk will not produce voltage or current that could harm the cow.

We would like the components to be simple and affordable as it will effect the base cost of the unit we are developing. Schematics will need to be provided as well as a description of how the circuit will work.

In summary:

a. Measure conductivity(resistance) of milk
b. Do so without harm to the animal
c. Circuit will return a value between 0-5vDC
– This range will correspond to a resistance reading between 0 and 5k ohms
d. Source voltage on circuit cannot exceed 5vDC
– We can provide a PWM signal if needed
e. Design needs to be simple and affordable
f. Probes on metering device is 1cm apart and stainless steel
g. Voltage used to measure cannot be DC as this will corrode the probes in liquid
e. Schematics and description of operation must be submitted
f. We are already using a microcontroller which will read the input of the circuit provided.

IPod – Saab Integration Project

I currently have a source code for a IC MCU FLASH 24KX16 28 SOIC micro controller that integrates native Saab radio and steering wheel controls with iPod music playing functions. However, I have a few problems I need worked out. They are that the ipod randomly pauses and the device requires resetting, it randomly stops displaying text on the Saabs native display unit, and the device currently only allows only 6 playlists to be accessed. Pin Art Automatic.

I am looking for a pin art system that is electronic i wish to be able to instruct each pin to move up and down a total of 100mm ideally i would have 2500 pins moving independantly of eachother so that they could build a 3d image on instruction and clear that image and do another image quickly.
I was thinking a motor and screw system might be one way to do it with each pin a screw as well. But i am open to suggestions

Talking Counter For Remote Control Use

I am flying a competitive remote control sport called F5B. Here is a link – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KGcB3VDpxA. You climb with the motor on for a few seconds and then you glide down. You only get a total of 10 motor-on climbs for the entire competition. After a few motor climbs it is easy to forget what climb # you are on and how many climbs are left.

I need a device that does the following:

– Counts from 1 to 10 to remind the pilot how many climbs have been done.
– Does this verbally, i.e. speaking counter, since you cant look at display during flight.
– Activated with signal from receiver for high throttle (signal on, see below)

So, this device would plug into a receiver (which already has a 5v battery source). You can press and button and it says "Ready". When the throttle on signal is sent, it will count "1 climb". Then then next throttle on it will say "2 climbs". And so on until "10 climbs, done".

Electronic Development On A Picture System For Retailers

I am looking for an engineer who can help me do the technical design of a new machine I would like to build for retail stores. This should be a unit which can be hung on a wall and which comprises of an LCD screen, a camera lense and a photo printer. In essence you should be able to shoot a number of pictures of yourself, choose the best one/two/three from the screen and then print those to take home.

This should be a low cost addition to every retailers store where people come to fit something which they might want feedback on from other people like spouses etc. Think clothing stores, opticians etc.
