Create Script To Rotate/Fade Background Images

I need a php script written that when loaded will automatically rotate web page body background images based on a list of files in a particular directory (all found .jpg files for example) and that will smoothly fade between images. The fade/rotation time would be based on a number of seconds schedule that will be a variable.
I need to be able to put content in front of the rotating / fading background images and I need the first image to be automatically loaded on the page when it first is loaded.
The code must be well written and at least moderately documented so modifications can be made if needed down the road.
If needed I can provide the graphic files (currently 8 of them).

I am looking for a website developer to create a gaming community which shall have registration,login,logout (Basics) but with advanced features, Such as profiles which will have information about the person (Which they can place in there user panel) also they will be able to upload images as profile pictures, There will also be a tab which will take you to a search where you can search for your friend and add them. also i would like it to have email verification (Not Needed Though).
