We require a very high quality eCommerce site to serve our global customers within a competitive retail segment. There are 2-3 players within this sector that have created industry leading and inspiring eCommerce sites and we are looking for a design and functional website solution that is of equal calibre.

After a thorough review we have opted to build our site on the BigCommerce platform and have already created an account. We are not satisfied with the standard BigCommerce templates and layouts and require a new design and layout. As well as creating the design for our website we are looking for the site to be customised in line with the wireframes we have created. We will provide you with a detailed design and branding brief, a list of functional requirements and 3 wireframes based on the 3 most important pages of the site. We expect that these wireframes will set the precedent for the other pages.

Design Brief – We have created a detailed design brief which outlines the persona of our brand. We will require you to interpret this and present designs based on your understanding of the brief.

Current website – We already have an online brochure website which will be replaced by this new site. You will be able to refer to this site for colour references but you are not bound by the current structure. We will require you to house some of the existing content from this site as it is geared towards a difference customer group. Our new site will have 2 distinct customer groups – 1) those who require us to customise their clothing for them, but cannot order online. 2) the new retail division which is online only and all products can be purchased online

Design templates – We will require you to present us with with several design templates for consideration. The designs will have to work within the structure of the BigCommerce solution. We have several product ranges and categories. You will be required to create pages templates that can be used throughout each product category and product details pages as well as the home pages and all other pages. The site will be quite image heavy to feature the products as well as flash or html5 usage on the home page to present promotional and branding messages to site visitors.

Customisation of BigCommerce site – We have reviewed many BigCommerce customer sites and other best of breed eCommerce sites and created a specific list of features which are also included in the wireframe. We will require you to customise the site using CSS, PHP and provide advice on the structure we are recommending.

Product images – you may be required to resize certain product images if they do not render properly on the site. We will then manage the image and content upload through the BigCommerce CMS.

Integration with payment gateway – You will also be required to assist with any technical assistance to integrate BigCommerce with our selected payment gateway which will most likely be eWay. As we are domiciled outside of US we are unable to use the BigCommerce payment gateway.

Integration with Google Analytics – You will be required to implement Google Analytics tracking code into the site

As part of the bid process we would also like to review other ecommerce sites you have created preferably using BigCommerce and you will also have a good Freelancer track record for previous work carried out. You will have strong English verbal and written skills for communication.

NB: Facebook Shopping page: This is not included in this brief our budget but would also be advantageous if you have experience in creating Facebook based retail sites as we intend to launch one down the track. We are experienced online marketers and will be able to provide you with clear guidance throughout the project. We look forward to working with the best freelancer for our project.
