We are developing a web application in Java built on top Google App Engine. In one of the pages on the application there needs to be a scan button which is supposed to initiate the scanner and acquire an image (single page or multiple page) and have the file itself saved as a PDF. The naming of the file created should be configurable and the file itself need to be stored on file location (not necessarily on the local machine – possibly a network share).
There should be nothing that should be installed on the client machine – this is supposed work with just a browser (IE and possibly Firefox support). Technology to be used should be Java and possible Java script. The actual web application is something we are building we are looking for someone to help in building this scan piece. The scanning should support any TWAIN supported devices.

We have moved an ecommerce store from www.domainname.co.uk to store.domainname.co.uk. We have a new (non-ecommerce site) at the original www.domainname.co.uk location. The new www.domainname.co.uk site is hosted on Unix and is a Wordpress site; the hosting company have a Plesk console.
We need the .htaccess file looked at to get mod_rewrite function working and in addition to assist with rewriting URLs that have now moved to the store.domainname.co.uk location (R=301 redirect type ultimately) so we can regain the lost traffic.
Currently the .htaccess file has some mod_rewrite commands that should redirect an invalid URL back to index.php but this is not working.
So in summary:
Get current .htaccess file correect so that mod_rewrite functions and then add commands to rewrite browser URL to do a redirect store trafic to new location whist leaving other trafic alone.

I have two Chinese movies where I want to combine the Chinese and English subtitle (.srt) into one subtitle file.
The Chinese .srt file is not synchronized with the English srt file, and combining the two files can not be automated because the non-synchronization of the 2 files is not consistent.
You do not need to know Chinese, as google translate can translate it into English for you. You basically need to line up the rough translation providing by google translate with the "native speaker" english translation provided by me.
There are 2 movies: Movie 1 is 1015 lines. Movie 2 is 1025 lines. So, basically, you will copy and paste about 2000 lines.

My business auto-generates proposals in Microsoft Excel. We put in the Qty value, and it runs equations to auto-generate results. The results all appear on a summary tab of our excel file.
We then open up a .pdf template that we made, and hand enter the results 1 by 1 from the excel file to the .pdf though Adobe Acrobat. There are about 20 records from the summary page that are hand entered into the .pdf proposal.
My question: Is there an excel macro, or some program that I can run that when I hit a button- it will auto plugin the appropriately mapped numbers from the excel file straight into our .PDF proposal template?

I have created a simple audio sequencer that plays back 4 tracks of smaller audio clips over a period of time.
I require a class writing that can take this information and PROGRAMATICALLY (without needing to play any audio) mixdown the 4 tracks into 1 sound object that can then be outputed as a WAV file or even better an MP3 file.
This is a technical proccess which I have some knowledge of already. Please can any bidder please message me how they would go about it and note any experience with this type of task theyve already had.
I have the mixing working already using the SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA event but this (as far as I know) requires playback, which I dont want. Ill be happy to share the code and any knowledge I have with the successful bidder.

I have a client who would like to have a their church website recreated. They would like the image of the site to be interactive with the information & data below changing either when hovered over or when clicked. Other than that, the only other requirement is a contact page with contact fields, etc. The site will be between 6 and 15 pages worth of content and all of the design and content will be laid out in a very organized layered file. I would prefer for someone to be able to work with a layered EPS file from Illustrator. Need a 2-3 week turnaround on this and the client needs to be able to update on the back end in a very user friendly way.

Simple windows based application to download/transfer a .txt file and images from two http addresss and FTP it them another server.

The http folder address for images can currently be called via a cgi script, displaying all images.
The images simlpy need to match the secondary (FTP) image folder
.txt File
The txt file is a simple flattext database which needs to be transfered as is ( no changes or corruption)
The http address for the image folder and .txt file are seperate (same server seperate folder) as are the new ftp locations
the two http and two ftp addresss need to be setup on installation of programm, and changeable for different users.
The program has to be desktop based for all windows versions and not require any additional server elements.
We do not have FTP access to the http files.

I am looking for a good CSS (HTML) programmer to make my website Cross Browser compatible.
It is a wordpress theme which was ended mostly under MAC where it is PERFECTLY working on FIREFOX, CHROME and SAFARI. The theme has also been checked in Windows 7 on FIREFOX and CHROME and it is as it should be so no problems here either.
Therefore; here is what you need to do:
1. Create a new CSS file (from the original of course) to make the theme compatible with IE 7 and IE 8 under WINDOWS XP and 7.
2. The original CSS file (and theme php files) must not be modified so if you need to change something will need to as first and then make completely sure that the theme is not being al-tered in FIREFOX, CHROME and SAFARI for MAC or Windows where it already works fine. 99% of the styling is in the CSS file, very few styling is done in the php theme files so if you must change something in order for it to work also in the requested browsers then you will need to do as explained above.
3. No CSS hacking as it will have to be a CSS file for the IE browsers loaded with the known conditionals.
4. Aside from very small details (a few only) the theme already looks fine in Windows 7 on IE8 so I guess it will not be a difficult task to make it compatible with IE7 and make sure that look fine under both Windows XP and 7.
5. As this website is already live, the ideal will be that I will provide you with the original CSS file and you will install it in your test server and let me know so that I can link it from my theme with the needed conditional for the IE browsers.
