I need a series of banners creating for mobile phone sites.
Each banner will focus on a different mobile phone manufacturer:
BlackBerry
Nokia
Sony Ericsson
Samsung
LG
All images are a standard size with a black background.
The size of the banners is to be 960px x 140px
The banners are to be a montage of different mobile phone handsets, NO BRAND NAMES OR LOGOS are to be used, ONLY the handsets / cell phones. Preferably choose more modern smart phones / touch screen handsets for the images.
Images to the left require a darker overlay, so that text can be placed over them. Images to the right can be lighter.
Images must merge fully into black background, i.e. no white pixels around the edges.

So, nothing too fancy, just a montage with simple overlays to tone down colours on the left of the image, and perhaps reflective effects if handsets are used to the right of the image.

1) The application should run on a Nokia phone with camera (6120 or similar, but if the app is easier to develop for other devices, we could change). Preferred platform: Symbian. J2ME could also be an option.
2) It should be very easy to start the application: pushing one key only (shortcut), …
3) The application has to show the camera vision, so that the user is able to point the camera to the QR code.
4) A square should be drawn in the screen, so that the user knows where to point the camera.
5) The application should read the QR code as fast as possible. The code will just contain a number (123456, for instance).
6) The application also needs to know the date (day and month). The date should be taken from the GSM network (Spain). If this is not possible, it could be taken from the device.
7) The application will have a list of phone numbers (10, for instance).
Using the number read from the QR code and the date, the application should select a phone number from the list and should start a phone call to that specific number.
9) If possible, the call should be stopped after a defined number of seconds (10, for instance). The calls will not be answered by the other party (lost calls).
10) The algorithm to select the phone number depending on the QR code and the date will be simple. For instance: if the number from the code plus the day of the month ends with a 0, call the first number in the list, …
11) Once the QR code is read, the user should only see a message ("Connecting", for instance). Nothing else during the call process, if possible. The call should be made without user interaction, if possible.
12) If the text in the QR code is not valid (not a number, too long, …) or it is not possible to decode it (light conditions, …), the application should show an error message ("Invalid code", for instance), and two options: "Retry" and "Exit".
13) When the call is finished, the user should see a message ("Connection finished successfully") and the "Exit" option.
14) The Retry option should show the camera view again
15) The Exit option should return the control to the platform.
16) The source code and instructions to recompile the application should be available to us. We should own all the rights.
17) We should be able to change easily in the code:
17a) the algorithm that selects the phone number to call, using the number in the QR code and the date (REQ. 10)
17b) the list of available phone numbers (REQ. 7)
17c) the duration of the calls (REQ. 9)

About the features…
The Delighters : Google maps locate everything and anything for you. Battery life if great – atleast 4 hours talktime is guaranteed. Keypad is tacky and gives a nice feel during use. The bluetooth headset connection is easy and works right the first time and is 100% assuring that it works much better than the Z550i i had previously.
The Disappointers : The display gets scratched easy – and deep at times. The Music menu comes up now and then on its own, fortunately the songs do not start off on their own!
The Neutrals : GPS hogs battery and heats up the unit – but that is normal stuff.
Summary : A great Phone, works reliably, no complaints or regrets , and is a good companion. The price seemed a tad high. Overall, i love it

The Nokia 5800, aka “The Tube” is quite a formidable phone offering many great advantages. First off the price, which can range anywhere from 200 to 300 euro, it isnt little but it is pretty savvy when compared to the 700 euro of the new IPhone. This project when first started, was lacking a backend service & a website & a client app, in short it needed to be made from scratch.
Today the backend service is ready along with the website. Few more things will be added to it as and when required.
What i need in a symbian application is as below, but it should be workable on both 3rd edition & 5th Edition. One build that works on both and possibly covers UIQ / and all nokia phones running symbian S60 or S80 etc etc..
There is a UI with 6-10 pages, very simple and intuitive. The main page is like an MSN friends list with a n image logo and friend name …remaining pages like settings, about, help , inbox, profile page etc. they are mostly like putting simple text for information..
The Client Application will use backend service to retrieve the data and to send the data collected from the device/user.
There is also a message sending over http. an inbox that receives the message on the other side.
A comments section where the friends of the user can post some comments of one liner..
If someone is interested in this, i shall be giving $400 for this client app. No backend programming or website programming required.
