We are looking for a company to develop and design a social network based around the sport of Rugby. We are open to using both Social engine and Jom Social or any other platform that is deemed suitable.Something similar to Facebook with the ability to create different groups and to link up family members from the same sport or club. I would also like the ability to add a specific page for the rugby clubs that may be interested with the ability to add their colours and logo etc. Really the concept is similar to a family tree in that a family member can upload profile/bio of all their fathers or any family members details including photos, videos, stories, newspaper clippings etc.. If another member of the same family is uploaded there will be a link between them. Also the Rugby clubs like Munster would be able to create their own page with their own logos and colours and also when the club is playing, hall of fame, current players etc.
We may look at charging a small fee for people to create accounts, but this should be able to be turn on or off or enabled for additional content. This site should provide a history and genealogy of a particular family through the medium of Rugby. Also allow a facility to expand into other sports when required like Soccer, Gaelic, Hurling, etc.
The basis behind the idea is that we have families here in Ireland and the UK who have generations of their family that have played Rugby, so for example: My grandfather played Rugby for Munster in 1930 so I would like to create a page for him with his achievements, photographs, story etc.. My father also played Rugby in 1960 -1970, so I would like to do the same for him and I played Rugby in the 1990s so I would do the same for me. we would then be connected because we are part of the same family that played for the same club.
It is the connection between the members and the nostalgia that is important. Some functions and features we would like:
